The interest of ancestors has several different motivation. An old family legend, a father to son story, notice from the deep of a drawer, a noble diploma or a foxed photo. But the reason of interest can be simple curiosity. Many of us wants to know where our ancestors came from, who they were, what kind of lifeline they had.

It can be just the opposite (the origin tree) which shows one descendants all direct line ancestors. The origin tree is a special type of family tree, which does not show the collateral lines, but it shows the direct line ancestors. Research can be made on one single line, but you can map a smaller community's relations as well.
