Past-finder Familytree research for everyone |

Hearing the word family tree most of us think of the ornamented descent table of dynastiesor ancient branches of noble family trees. But everyone has a family tree whatever social status their ancestors had. With the help of family tree research, and using secular and ecclesiastical archival material, branches of family tree can be drawn retrospectively: 250-300 years back in time.
We know only few about a life of ordinary families but they were the majority of the continental and home population: agricultural workers, slaves, folk medicine men, tradesmen, soldiers, or craftsmen. Searching their lives gives a lot of interesting data to their late descendants.

Traditions inherited through generations, tragedies, big movements, home and language changes, human frailty and strenghts, declining and emerging human destinies. Most of the people do not know a lot about their ancestors. Our memory only goes back to grandparents and great grandparents, all the others dissapeared from the scene of Time. Their memory can be mined out by research.

I do social history, ethnography and family history research from 1998. I do regular publications from 2001. I do family tree rearch from 1998. During my work I did research in several Hungarian archives, libraries and museums, cemetries and offices. I did research in several foreign archives like Austria, Croatia, Rumania, Slovakia, Germany and Chech Republic. I am familiar with the research possibilities in Central Europe. My work is effective with the help of my studies in sources, methodical and paleographical knowledge and my language knowledge in German, Latin and Rumanian.
Would You like to know your ancestors? My homepage gives information about what kind of starting data is necessary to start a familytree search, what kind of sources I use, what kind of methods I use, how much time and expense should be counted to do a research.

Process of the family research |
|
|
Before starting the research it is important to collect data about the family. Every name, date, place and any other data (profession, religion, social status, oral tradition, stories) can have a high value on successful research. |
